America The Beautiful Park Pass Senior – We currently offer two types of passes for use at national parks, forests and other federal sites: site passes and the America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal All Lands Annual Pass (known as the Interagency Annual Pass). This physical pass provides access to more than 2,000 federal sites. The Interagency Annual Pass is valid for a full year through the month of purchase. This pass does not provide discounts for camping, permits, or ticket reservations. The Interagency Annual Pass is mailed and must be carried with you; Please allow time for shipping. Anyone 16 years of age or older can purchase a pass. Children 15 and under are always admitted free.

Each pass includes entrance fees to lands managed by the National Park Service and the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and standard facility fees (day use fees) to lands managed by the US Forest. Please remember when making your purchase that Interagency Passes are non-refundable, non-transferable, non-extendable and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Passholders must show valid photo identification (ID) with each pass.

Understanding The National Park Senior Pass Rate Increase

National Parks Service Raises Senior Pass Price

Available to: US citizens or permanent residents age 62 or older. Applicants must provide proof of age and residency or citizenship.

For more information about the terms used (for example, “non-commercial vehicle” or “pass holder,” see the Pass Program Definitions on the USGS website. All passes will be available for sale Thursday through Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Oct. 31, 2023. Passes will not be available for sale on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Beginning November 11, 2020, all eligible veterans and Gold Star family members will have free access to all national forests and grasslands. The free benefit will take effect on Veterans Day, and will continue indefinitely, providing veterans and Gold Star families with free access to Forest Service-operated recreation sites. Fee waivers will cover standard facilities such as trailheads, visitor centers, picnic sites and other day-use recreation sites. We crave the simple peace of nature and have spent our lives together taking every opportunity to travel and see the beauty around us.

We spent many years hiking and taking day trips to nearby parks and places. We spent some time tent camping in state parks. Finding that most national sights and parks charge a hefty entrance fee, it was financially smart to purchase this pass for $80 for a year.

Each pass admits the pass owner and all persons in the vehicle to all national sites and federal recreation sites.

Dhani turned 62 in December 2022, so we purchased a lifetime pass for him. With this, we get to visit any national park or monument without paying the $30 entrance fee most of them charge per vehicle for the rest of their lives. Some entry fees are over $30. In fact most major national parks charge $35 per day to enter. I recommend considering this purchase if you hope to visit many of these national locations.
