When looking at iconic residences in Las Vegas, it is impossible to ignore Celine Dion’s residence. Dion headlined two concerts at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, becoming the highest-grossing resident artist in Strip history. Here’s how much money Celine Dion’s Las Vegas residency brought in.

Born in Quebec, Canada, Dion’s big break came in 1982 when she won the Yamaha World Popular Song Festival according to The List. She later won the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest, representing Switzerland.

Dion was originally scheduled to begin a new residency in Las Vegas at the Resorts World Theater in November 2021. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, she postponed the performance due to health reasons. It also led to her canceling the remaining Courage World Tour dates earlier this year.

She released a statement saying: “I really hoped I would be fine now, but I guess I just need to be more patient and stick to the regimen the doctors prescribe. As Dion continues to recover, she offered her fans an optimistic update. According to Celine Dion’s official website, her 2022 European tour dates have been rescheduled to 2023, meaning ticket holders can hope to finally see the singer in concert next year.

Celine Dion Ends 16 Year Las Vegas Residency

Those clamoring for Celine Dion’s return to the Las Vegas Strip were given a timeline from Celine herself on Wednesday.
The pop superstar and Las Vegas resident has announced that her “Courage” world tour is being pushed back to 2022. European dates previously set for March 19-June 16 are now booked from May 25-Sept. 24, 2022.
“Vaccines are on the way, so I promise we’ll make up for all the lost time in 2022,” Celine said quietly in a video posted on her official Twitter account. “Take care. I miss you so much. I love you guys. See you soon.” Then she blew a kiss.

What does this mean for us at VegasVille? Celine wouldn’t appear at The Theater at Resorts World (where we identified her next residency) until the fourth quarter of 2022 at the earliest. The dominant Vegas headliner from 2003-2019 plans to wrap up her tour commitments before getting involved in entertainment specifics for a residence on the Strip.
Celine opens at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, England on May 25. Playing London’s O2 Arena on May 29-30, the band also play Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Belgium and closing in Paris on September 25.
Before the pandemic, there was also speculation about extending the “Courage” tour to South America, but no dates have been given beyond September 25. Such a tour extension would likely push Celine’s Strip plans into 2023.

“A New Day…” was her first concert residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in support of her 18th studio album, “A New Day Has Come.” The ninety-minute show premiered in 2003 and was as much a visual experience as it was a musical masterpiece. Dion’s show became the hottest ticket in town, bringing fans from all over the world.
Her original three-year, $100 million contract (which included profit sharing) with The Colosseum was extended by two years due to the incredible success of the show. After over 700 performances, “A New Day…” ended in December 2007. It is still considered the most successful residency of all time.
Dion’s prominent presence on The Strip evoked memories of old Las Vegas, where patrons were as interested in hitting the tables as Elvis Presley during his seven-year stint at the International Hotel or catching The Rat Pack at the Copa Room. at the Sands Casino in the early 1960s.

Directed by Franco Dragon and choreographed by Mia Michaels, 43 dancers helped create an amazing performance. More than three million fans got a chance to see the show, which grossed more than $500 million.
