For the purposes of this article, I’ll suggest spending three nights in Las Vegas. Enough for a fun long weekend but not enough time to get bored. Here’s what the budget for a trip to Las Vegas looks like.

High Resort Fees Come Under Fire In Las Vegas, Elsewhere
If you’re Canadian, you may want to consider applying for one of the best travel credit cards in Canada to help offset your costs by collecting points. For example, the American Express Platinum card gives you a generous welcome bonus often worth more than $900 (likely more if you transfer your points to Aeroplan or Marriott Bonvoy). There’s also the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite card that charges no foreign transaction fees and comes with airport lounge access.
If you are flying to Las Vegas from North America, especially the West Coast, you will find some very cheap flights. On average, you can expect to pay about $375 per person round-trip from within North America. Flights from US cities will be much cheaper than from Canadian cities. I’ve seen prices from within the US under $250, often even lower if you’re flying with a budget airline.
For those traveling from Canada, flight prices to Las Vegas have increased recently. It is worth noting that many airlines offer Las Vegas vacation packages, where the hotel and flight are priced together. This can often give you a significant discount.
Las Vegas has no shortage of hotel rooms. If you want the true Las Vegas experience, you should stay on or near the Strip where the entertainment and action happens. This means higher costs, but there are still deals to be found, especially if you book early.
Las Vegas Visitors Pay Too Much For Hotel Rooms Because Big Resorts Use ‘under The Table Deals’ To Jack Up Prices, Lawsuit Says
If you stay off the Las Vegas Strip, on the northern part of the Strip, or in downtown Las Vegas, accommodation prices may go down a bit. It really depends on what you are looking for as some of the larger hotels are quite expensive and have different themes.
I recommend budgeting $275 per night for hotels, but that’s an average price. Also note that some hotels charge a daily resort fee. There are often discounts and sales, so your average night can go down. Of course, if you’re trying to look like a star and want a room with a view or a suite, the prices can go up significantly.
From mansions to apartments, there are plenty of holiday homes and holiday homes available for rent. Prices are similar to hotel prices, so you won’t save a huge amount. However, you do have access to a kitchen, and if you are traveling with a large group, renting a house may be better value.
If you have the right credit card, you can save a fair amount of money on hotels. Americans should strongly consider the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express card where you can earn up to 95,000 Marriott Bonvoy points and $300 at U.S. restaurants as a welcome bonus.
Resorts World Las Vegas
Canadians should consider the Marriott Bonvoy American Express program, which gives you up to 75,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. That’s enough points for a few free nights at some hotels, which can easily be worth more than $500.
If your Las Vegas plans focus primarily on staying on or adjacent to The Strip, you can easily get around via local transportation. Either by monorail or bus. The monorail costs $5 per trip versus $15 for a day ticket. The bus, known as The Deuce, is the most budget-friendly option, and 3-day tickets cost $20. Unfortunately, it doesn’t stop at the airport. However, there is an airport shuttle that departs from the airport to hotels on The Strip and costs less than $10 each way.
The monorail may look attractive, but when you look at a map, you quickly realize that it is not convenient at all.
Alternatively, you can use taxis and Uber. However, they are much more expensive, and if you plan to go out too late, they may cancel on you.
How Much Does A Night Out In Las Vegas Really Cost?
Some people will walk up and down the strip, but Las Vegas is great! In addition, the distance between some hotels is much longer than it might seem at first glance.
If you’re planning to do a lot of things outside of the city, you’ll need to either rely on day trips with pick-ups and drop-offs or car rentals.
Now it’s time to take a look at the attractions to see how much it costs to go to Las Vegas guide. Determining a budget for Las Vegas attractions can be a little difficult. You can easily spend a few thousand on shows, clubs, bars, gambling and day trips. It depends on your plans for the weekend in Las Vegas. I would say that if you don’t plan on going crazy, you can charge $500 for Las Vegas attractions and still have a good time.
If you want to see one of the popular shows, you must book directly with them. Keep in mind that many of these deals sell out months in advance, so you should plan ahead if you have something specific in mind.
Free Things To Do In Las Vegas
Don’t forget that gambling is an attraction too. How much you spend there is up to you, but you could come out on top or you could lose it all.
It’s also possible to see Las Vegas without spending any money on attractions. Some of the free things to do include: Fremont Street Experience, Bellagio Gardens and Botanical Gardens, Bellagio Fountains, Flamingo Wildlife Habitat, Streetmosphere in Venice, Mirage Volcano, and many more hotel themes.
Las Vegas has all the dining for every budget. You can eat really cheap, or really expensive, or somewhere in between. To give you an idea, an all-you-can-eat buffet at finer hotels will cost around $30 to $40 per person, while a delicious meal out will cost around $50 per person. Fine dining will cost you much more. Of course, there are also all the typical American fast food places, where you can get a slice of pizza or a sandwich for about $5.
You’ll probably be doing a combination of these, so I’d say $250 for food and drink is a pretty generous budget for 3 days in Las Vegas. However, Las Vegas has many famous and international restaurants. If you like to eat, you can easily spend too much. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth buying food cheaply. Eating is part of the travel experience.

Random spending is usually a category I suggest adding a little money to in case you want souvenirs or a couple of extra drinks. However, when it comes to Las Vegas, you may want to be more generous in spending your money randomly. Especially since everyone in Las Vegas expects tips.
There are plenty of luxury stores in Las Vegas, and outlet shopping is also available. You may also want to catch a last-minute show that you didn’t originally plan. I would say bring at least $200 extra to be safe.
So, how much does it cost to go to Las Vegas? Based on my estimates, you can expect to spend around $2,185 for three nights in Sin City. Las Vegas isn’t cheap, but if you use some of the tips above, you can find places to save some money. Or, if you prefer to treat yourself, you can do that too. Las Vegas is definitely a good place to splurge.
