Welcome to Los Angeles, California! Spend an afternoon exploring the movie star’s home – stroll the Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach or Rodeo Drive for a bit of people-watching or soak up the culture with a trip to the Getty Center or a tour of the Beverly Hills mansions. You are free to explore LA until 12pm when your group meets for a welcome meeting at your hotel in Venice. Go on a guided walking tour along Venice’s colorful and picturesque canals, and then consider a group dinner at one of the many famous restaurants to get to know each other.
Day Trip From Las Vegas To Los Angeles
Depart LA after breakfast and take a scenic drive to Palm Springs, famous for its mid-century modern architecture and desert hotels. Ride the Palm Springs Aerial Tram to the top of Mt. Jacinto for a refreshing lunch with lots of people watching over Chino Canyon and Palm Springs. In the afternoon continue to Twentynine Palms to check into your hotel and relax. Then join your guide for an afternoon exploration of Joshua Tree National Park. Sitting between the Mojave Desert and Colorado, Joshua Tree is home to amazing rock formations, a variety of cacti and diverse desert wildlife such as coyotes, lizards and bighorn sheep. This evening is free to relax – perhaps sit down to dinner with your group and prepare for the days of exploration ahead. (L)
Vasquez Rocks And Charlie Brown Farms
This morning, enjoy breakfast and then set off on a Route 66 road trip. You’ll spend time driving the famous Route 66 from California through Nevada and into Arizona, stopping by the community of Seligman for lunch. There is even a historic retro diner where you can get a real taste of American culture and history. Arrive at Grand Canyon National Park in the afternoon, check into your hotel and then head out for sunset along the canyon rim. This viewpoint offers incredible views of the vast network of canyons, rivers and cliffs throughout the park. (B/L)
Today, a naturalist guide from the Grand Canyon Conservancy will join your group for a guided walking tour (approximately 3 hours) on a section of the Bright Angel Trail. Your guide will teach the group about the reserve’s history, geology and Indigenous connections – past and present – to the land. Expect to see many viewpoints, ancient stones, legendary fossils, diverse plant life and even some curiosities along the way. This afternoon is as clear as the Arizona sky. Explore at your own pace and remember to always have a supply of water and high energy snacks. Your group leader can inform you about the optional activities available
This morning is a good chance to get up early and catch the sunrise. Leave the Grand Canyon through the east entrance, stopping at the Desert View Watchtower. Upon arrival in the town of Cameron, visit the Navajo trading post and have free time for lunch before continuing to Monument Valley tribal park. Here, you’ll meet a Navajo guide for a sunset jeep ride through the valley – a journey into a fascinating country, where you can explore natural and historical landmarks, rock arches and bridges and petroglyph rock art. Witness a cultural performance and then join the locals for a dinner of Navajo tacos around the campfire. Settle in for an evening filled with Native American dancing, flute playing, drumming, singing and storytelling. Afterwards, proceed to the nearby town of Kayenta and check into your hotel. (D)
Get ready for another day full of amazing desert scenery. After breakfast, you’ll hit the road again, passing through the small town of Page, nestled on the shores of Lake Powell. You’ll join a Navajo guide as you descend the incredible Antelope Canyon through a series of steps. The tall red walls curve and curve upwards, providing a great photo opportunity. Learn some local history and interesting stories about the canyon itself, then continue your journey. Stop for a short walk to view Horseshoe Arch, named for the loop of water that surrounds the massive sandstone formation. Enjoy lunch with your group before continuing to Utah. Drive along scenic roads and enter your destination – Bryce Canyon National Park. Spend the night by the park and rest up for an early start tomorrow. (B/L)

You’ll wake up early today to catch the best light for your trip to Bryce Canyon National Park, famous for its orange hoodoos – uniquely shaped rocks rising from the desert, created by millions of years of erosion. Drive the park road, stopping at scenic spots, and arrive at a beautiful spot where your guide will take the group on a walk to the huts. Recharge with free time for lunch, then continue to Zion National Park, where you’ll explore Zion Canyon. If the group is looking forward to it, take a step at sunset and watch the colorful night shows to end a great day. Spend the night near Springdale. (B)
After breakfast, visit Zion National Park with your guide. Depending on the group’s interests and abilities, you can hike the Emerald Pool or the Guardian trail. There may also be the option to take on challenges such as The Narrows, which is probably the most popular ride in the park and one of the best canyoning areas in the world! Hike through a 300-meter-long cliff-lined canyon and cool off in a river along the way. This evening is for you to rest, relax and recharge. (B)
You’ll leave Zion National Park today and hit the road again one last time. See Snow Canyon State Park along the way, where many American movies have been filmed, then continue to Las Vegas, Nevada. Once an outpost in the desert west, Las Vegas is now a gambling and entertainment metropolis. It’s a city of larger-than-life characters, but beyond the glitz and glamor, Vegas is home to diverse urban neighborhoods and a thriving art scene. Your guide will take you to local favorites – from Fremont Street to a farewell group dinner at a local restaurant. (B/D)
