Fun Bars Las Vegas Strip – Las Vegas is many things, but you probably wouldn’t describe it as low-key. This fun city fills our senses in the most exciting way. Hotel lobbies soar in starry skies. Restaurants serve food that resembles magnificent works of art. Sparklingly costumed acrobats leap across stages filled with sparkling water. Clubs throb with excitement. In recent years, however, Vegas has also welcomed a handful of bars that show another side of the always-surprising city. They are silent. They are secret. In some cases, you also need a password to log in.

These species present a whole other side of Vegas: refined, exclusive, and sophisticated. Here’s a look at some of them worth slipping on.

The bar scene in downtown’s Fremont East district is high-energy: big crowds, thumping tunes, drinks for all. It’s a lovely surprise, then, that perhaps the busiest bunch — the commonwealth — is also home to the laundry room, hidden behind a bookcase. Access is challenging; You should receive a confidential phone number from Commonwealth staff, then text for a password. Once you’re inside, though, bearded mixologist Anthony Partridge shakes up new spins on old classics while a pianist tickles the room’s ivories. This former laundromat (hence the name) is big enough for about 12 guests, so the atmosphere is intimate. Perhaps most incredibly, you can’t hear anything outside, making it feel like the hubbub has disappeared entirely.

Is The Bar & Nightclub Party Scene In Las Vegas Evolving?

From the outside, Barbershop Cuts and Cocktails at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas looks like every working barbershop in town — three barber chairs, a small waiting area, and a bar cart for waiting customers. Behind the back door, however, the barber shop gives way to a dimly lit lounge that creates a lively scene. The vibe is old-school; There’s a mahogany bar that’s more than 100 years old, as well as floor and ceiling fixtures reclaimed from a historic barn. The drinkers here are stiff; Blenders stock more than 150 bourbons and whiskeys from around the world, and offer curated tastings designed to broaden customers’ palates. Live bands permeate the atmosphere and throw back an almost Rat Pack-era feel.

Nestled in The Mob Museum downtown, Underground is a working speakeasy and immersive experience. As its name suggests, the bar occupies the basement of the museum – a living exhibit detailing the days of Prohibition. The facility has a working distillery and brewery, and serves home-brewed moonshine and domestic beer. There’s a full complement of other drinks, as well – some even hidden in hollow books for effect. Time your visit to join one of the weekly dance classes teaching classic moves like the Charleston, or attend the weekly jazz night featuring rotating artists. To get in, buy a ticket to the museum and take the elevator down or hit the side door with the password from the museum’s Instagram page.

The last thing you’d expect to find under the escalators to the Shoppes at Mandalay Place is an elegant and secretive lounge and cigar room—which is precisely why the 1923 Bourbon Bar is such a treat. The bar, on the edge of the gaming floor at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, is open Friday and Saturday nights, and features 50 different bourbons and whiskeys. The most expensive option on the shelf, The Boss Hog V: The Spirit of Mauve, is not a bourbon, but a 13-year straight rye whiskey aged in Calvados casks. Sometimes there is also Pappy Van Winkle. On the cocktail side, a guest favorite is the Gangsters Holy Grail, featuring Cantonese ginger liqueur, Fernet Branca, fresh lime juice, and Crabby’s Orange Spice Ginger Beer. If you’re a cigar person, bring some sticks and smoke in the bar’s estate room. While you may not be into the party scene, that doesn’t mean you don’t enjoy adult beverages every now and then, right?

Whether you’re into craft beer, cocktails, wine or the best liquor, you’ll find plenty of places to quench your thirst in Las Vegas.
