OUR THOUGHT: Wynn Las Vegas offers a comfortable stay, complete with what could be “master” rooms, huge comfortable beds, floor-to-ceiling windows, and luxurious bathrooms overlooking the Las Vegas desert beyond.

The rooms at Wynn Las Vegas are classically elegant and meticulously designed. Floor-to-ceiling windows bathe the rooms in natural light, and pale, neutral decor, white leather sofas, and tasteful artwork in gilt-edged frames create a cozy atmosphere. Spacious bathrooms feature oversized marble tubs, separate showers, and small TVs, while each room has a large-screen TV, Amazon Echo for lighting control, free Wi-Fi, and touch-screen curtains. Popular with visiting celebrities and the ultra-wealthy, the exclusive Tower Suites feature a private entrance, Rolls-Royce private cars and a private pool.

Wynn is located at the north end of the Las Vegas Strip across from the Fashion Show Mall, home to Saks, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s and many other trendy stores. Its sister resort, Encore, is next door, and guests can take advantage of the many facilities there. Buses stop right outside the door, so you’d rather not have to drive 20 minutes south to the central attractions of Las Vegas.

Like many major Las Vegas resorts, the dining selection at Wynn is impressive, but everything here is done with incredible attention to detail, from the food itself to the decor, service, and experience. With so many offerings and cuisines from around the world, it can be difficult to know where to eat and they include fine dining, casual dining and vegan offerings. The hotel’s buffet offering is known as one of the best in the city, and Wing Lei was the first Chinese restaurant in the country to be awarded a Michelin star. Lakeside is a popular seafood restaurant and we also recommend SW. The restaurant’s outdoor patio has stunning views of the Lake of Dreams, where light and water shows are performed every evening.

At the end of 2022, my apartment in Las Vegas flooded and I had to move to make repairs. For a month, I lived at the five-star Wynn Las Vegas hotel.

Between working full-time as a cardiologist and spending my limited free time traveling, I found myself at home on Saturday mornings.

I live in a condominium above the Vegas Hotel and love the quietness of the building, so it was weird when I started hearing the sounds of water running through my curtain wall. I quickly realized that this was the beginning of a great flood.

I knew I was in for a luxurious stay given my status, but I took my stay even further by booking a room in the private VIP Tower Suite, which I thought was like a hotel within a hotel.

Before moving to Las Vegas full time, I always made it a point to stay at Encore Tower Suites for their larger accommodations and intimate, private feel.

Their doorman Dominik and many of their staff have been there since day one and I love how the lobby always seems bustling with the fashionable crowd. I even saw Lady Gaga come here before a concert years ago.
