California Desert Guide: Joshua Tree, Death Valley, Mojave & Palm Springs

In general, there are two ways to make a small group adventure private. First, you can only capture one of our published departure dates for your group. To achieve this, we must have enough space available to create a separate personal journey. Second, we can take the details of this itinerary and tailor it just for your group on the dates you choose. For this too, we just need to review your interest, group size and preferred time to create the trip.

In all cases, the process starts with a phone call so give us a call at (800) 445-2995 and in just a few minutes after gathering information, we can get to work making your trip a reality!

We’ll head to Joshua Tree first thing in the morning. Our first stop is the Visitor Center, where we get acquainted with this park of contrasts; Delicate and cruel, beautiful and unpleasant at the same time. From there, we drive south to north through the park, stopping for walking tours along the way. When we reach town, stay at a unique Joshua Tree home called 29 Palms Inn.

By spending a full day in Joshua Tree, we are able to reach the furthest reaches of the park. Larger than the state of Rhode Island, Joshua Tree National Park encompasses more than 400,000 acres of designated Mojave Desert wilderness. The guide’s choice of options for the day include a dirt road excursion to Covington Flats, various hikes, and Keys View. After dinner, enjoy a night of stargazing from the beautiful dark Joshua Tree landscape.

This morning we’re heading to Mosaic Canyon, named for its beautiful, water-polished marble walls. The duration of these repeated increases will be tailored to the interests of the group. After a picnic lunch we will stop at Salt Creek, where a seasonal stream flows in winter and spring. There, we’ll look for the stream’s native Salt Creek Pupfish, best seen during their mating season in the spring.
