Peak tourist season will always be the warmer months from May to September when the temperatures are warmer. This is when everything is normally open.

We went in the first week of October and only some of the restaurants and shops were open, some are closed because this season is not as popular. In our opinion though, this is ideal as it’s less crowded and you get autumn leaves! Some tourist attractions like the boat ways go through the fall so you still have some of Lake George’s top attractions to enjoy, beautiful scenery, and it’s quieter and arguably one of the most beautiful places in Upstate New York in the fall.
