After the early to mid 80’s there was no real success. They still did their best to keep the line alive. Their second attempt to bring it back was in 2002, where I came in. Today, I will be looking at the first version of the line, Hee-Man!
The line figure prototypes and early deliveries had an iron cross logo (like the vintage He-Man had), but later figures (like mine) had the H-style logo of the 2002 cartoon. He-Man is a little over 6 inches tall and has 12 points. It is worth noting that this figure was shipping at the same time as the first series

Line) handled by Four Horseman Studios. The design is very angular and definitely a product of its time, but it holds up. Despite the fondness for metal recycling, the He-Man statue was never used for anything other than He-Man, and this figure was the first to have one. It is definitely a nice sculpture. The harness is a separate piece that can be removed if one chooses, which is cool. The paintwork on He-Man is nothing fancy, but it is solid. The details are pretty clear, and the hair has some nice accent work too. It would have been nice if some of that accent work had ended up in some other places, but it’s not terrible. This-man includes his sword of power (which the guard can display), a shield, and an axe. A sword can be carried in the back, as can an ax and a shield, if you are patient.
Until Cartoon Network aired the first few episodes of the 2002 cartoon to launch the series as a movie. After watching the movie, I immediately wanted a He-Man. Unfortunately, the initial shipment of numbers was broadcast shortly after the hit, which made it difficult to find this man. My dad took me to several different stores, but I finally found him at a Target. I really liked the picture at the time. I don’t know if he’s one of my favorites now, but he’s definitely not bad, and I can’t deny that he’s a great looking figure.
