The Kats! Bureau at this writing is the Quarantine Ballroom at Tuscany Suites. Wait, it’s the Florentine Ballroom. But consultant Matt Dillingham with “quarantine,” a quip, which refers to the new and temporary environment of the “Rat Pack is Back.”

The tribute show has been moved from the Copa Room under the casino to the second ballroom in Tuscany, where it can spread and spread love by returning on Thursday night. “The Rat Pack Is Back” will now play between 160-250 in the new room, with teams of four per table. The venue has a real “corporate gig” vibe, in a room transformed with black drapes and silver lighting scaffolds to mirror the live stage.

“It’s as good as we could hope for,” producer Dick Feeney says. “We have a dinner package. Our crowd is not going to Las Vegas at this time, we’ll see.”

The production returns with co-stars Chris Jason (Frank Sinatra), Drew Anthony (Dean Martin), Kyle Diamond (Sammy Davis Jr.) and Joelle Righetti (comedy). Lon Bronson is back as musical director, leading the seven-piece band.

Rat Pack And Friends

This production stands alone as the only ongoing tribute to the Rat Pack. Over the past 21 years, the show has moved from Desert Inn, Sahara, Greek Isles, Plaza, Rio and finally Tuscany, where it opened in 2015.

Between Rio and Tuscany, the “Rat Pack” went to the Riviera in 2014, investing more than $ 100,000 in the old Versailles Showroom. Instead, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority stepped in, buying and leasing the property to expand the convention center.

But during the renovation of Versailles, Bronson and producer Dick Feeney found some old Vegas stuff. Old videotapes of “Splash,” and audiotapes of the introduction.

“I have one, I think of Pat Cooper,” says Bronson, referring to the iconic suspension. “We were trying to rebuild the stage, and sifting through the debris came up with a lot of Riviera history.”

Being with Bronson and Feeney is a history lesson in itself. Somehow Feeney was reminded of her 10-day run in “Evening At La Cage,” where she played Disco Dolly, in full drag, spending $6 on a dress at Goodwill for the job.

“The place roared,” Feeney recalled. “People were wondering what we were doing, putting the producer in the show. But it was good. That was sometimes.”

“Stealing Chaplin,” the Las Vegas story of Charlie Chaplin’s body abduction, is the work of Wayne Newton’s family. No, the family does not steal Chaplin’s body. This is left to two British crooks.

But Wayne’s wife Kathleen and daughter Lauren were both cast in the film. Kathleen is a TV reporter and Lauren is the gumball waitress Janice, the main female character’s best friend. Wayne plays Vegas star Wayne Newton, and some scenes were filmed last year at Newton’s Las Vegas estate.

The show starts in Las Vegas at 7pm. Thursday at Century 16 Suncoast Theatres. It opens on Friday to the public, across 18 regions.

This article is based on the nature of entertainment. The robbery of Chaplin’s body is based on an attempt in 1977 by several, I don’t know, exhumation businessmen, who stole and kept Chaplin’s body for ransom in Switzerland. The two were caught, of course. The revised story has moved to Las Vegas, with two British men making plans to exhume Chaplin’s body.

Real-life brothers Simon and Doug Phillips play British con men Cal and Terry. British actor Peter Woodward and “Sopranos” cast member Al Sapienza also starred.

Franky Perez is on his second “Crossing The Great Divide” motorcycle and music tour of the U.S. The Vegas native and rock/rock singer is currently working on the project’s records, as he’s heard around the country playing clinics, closing-down music venues, or gas station/mini-mart events.

As Vegas productions wait to reopen, one former headliner is planning her future. Terry Fator says he is still in talks to bring his show back to MGM Resorts International.

“MGM Resorts for sure,” he says. “I like being in that family.” Fator spent ten years at the Mirage, the theater he was named after, before his last day due to the COVID shutdown.

A nearby venue, 1 Oak Nightclub, was also named Capri (why not the Dunes Club, I ask). There has been a tire blow on a possible show/nightclub, but not related to Fator, at the venue this month.

Details: This latest version offers a great variety of entertainers who look like the stars they model and perform the best of their characters’ voices.

The winner of the quartet in this case is Drew Anthony, who bears a striking resemblance to the Dino of the era. He’s also comfortable doing what Martin does, with a drink at the ready and dual inputs that turn vocals into familiar tunes.

Brian Duprey is a wonderfully efficient Sinatra, the best-selling The Fox, maintaining a buttoned-down approach that contrasts with the sloppy look that Dino and Sammy eventually adopt.
