The next great Sunset Strip dining destination is here. Vo Ristorante from nightlife renown Tao Group Hospitality promises all the usual details – lush food everywhere to lots of stone and wood – but in a package that feels a little more restaurant and a lot less club.

The new vo occupies the former Roku space along the Sunset Strip, across from Soho House and within easy reach of the money and customers that come with Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and the Hollywood Hills. Spread across multiple eating and drinking areas and around 250 seats, the jewel-toned Italian destination is wrapped in the kind of luxury that has made hits out of places like nearby Olivetta. Think extra tall dining space, sparkling chandeliers and a horseshoe bar wrapped in copper and gold. However, the masterpiece of the property is the retractable roof over the main dining room, which opens year-round to the sky and is ideal for SOVID’s current moment. Venice locals Studio Collective even added accordion-style windows that fan right into the sunset for an almost enveloping airflow and view.

Not to be confused with vo, the Vegas nightlife destination, vo Ristorante aims to tone down the glitz and amp up the cool vibes for a kids’ diner. “It’s definitely not the party atmosphere that other people have,” Tao’s chief culinary officer Ralph Scamardell recently told the Robb Report, citing the “terrible DJ booth” and focus on the kitchen.

From the pass, Scamardelle and his day-to-day team will oversee a menu that includes several Italian-American staples, such as the signature one-pound meatball, while also offering a variety of pastas, crudo and sherry like roasted vegetables. , sad and cocktails. Expect tableside preparations and chocolate cake for dessert, while beverage director Craig Schotler (Alinea, MGM) oversees spirits and wine.
