Spirit Of The King Las Vegas – Christmas with a king? The King of Rock and Roll, perhaps. Well, sort of. Steve Connolly as Elvis “Soul of the King.”
Steve is Las Vegas like Elvis. He has been performing as Elvis for a long time, both on stage and on a smaller scale. I’ve seen them perform to an audience of four (and that’s a big story in itself) to packed showrooms. I rode when he did his tour bus gig on the Strip. All good times, Steve.

The versatile and dynamic Steve Connolly always impresses with his “Spirit of the King” performances and “Portrait of the King” artworks.
I’ve known Steve for a couple of years now. We met in 2012 at the Exhibit City News trade show party where he appeared and performed as Elvis. It turned out we had a lot in common, so we became instant friends. We often get together and discuss art, music and life in general while celebrating our mutual passion for coffee. Steve was a good man – a talented artist and performer – and a good friend. I greatly respect his skill and dedication as a painter and entertainer. So, the last time I saw him, I mentioned what I would do

Veteran Las Vegas performer Steve Connolly made his mark as the legendary Elvis Presley in his stage production of the show Spirit of the King, known as “The Hardest Working King in Show Biz.” Steve Connolly has performed more than 4,500 times as Elvis Presley. His public career adds more than a thousand private dates to his prolific career. He remains the only entertainer portraying Elvis to be voted “Best Elvis in Las Vegas” two years in a row by the staff of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, in 2006 and 2007. High-profile fans of Connolly’s version of Elvis entertainment include Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. , singer/songwriter Kenny Loggins, comedian Dennis Miller, former President Bill Clinton, and business mogul Donald Trump. Elvis conductor Bobby Morris calls him “the #1 Elvis on the planet” at the Hilton International in Las Vegas.
Connolly has mastered all the physical nuances, movements and conversational tones of the man from Memphis, and he has studied the entire body of Elvis’ music, including the novelty of some of his arrangements and his humor and abilities as a band leader. In live performances. Among his many talents were painting; Over the past three years, Connolly devoted a small portion of his 75-minute show to a fast-colour ‘portrait of the king’. This is truly an amazing feat in itself.

And while Steve’s performances are impressive, his art is equally so. His large-scale paintings on canvas feature Elvis in fun and whimsical situations. Steve modeled his artworks, making them more dynamic and interesting.

Steve first began painting publicly in Las Vegas in 2010 at an event called “First Friday,” a block party attended by about 10,000 people every month. Several of his paintings were exhibited at the Southern Nevada Center for the Arts. He set up a sound system in the gallery parking lot and began painting and singing as Elvis. What began as an attempt to increase business for an art gallery became the catalyst that sparked a whole new direction in the way Steve’s Elvis tribute show was presented, and the rest is history in the making!

HENARE rematched with Eddie Kingston since their clash at the G1 Climax 33 event earlier this summer. Claiming to have lived the life Kingston romanticized as a longtime fan of Japanese wrestling, HENARE attacked Kingston in the G1 Climax 33 semifinals at Ryogoku, an unprovoked attack that saw a quick receipt the following night. After the Mad King and Face of Fury brawled to the back of the sumo hall, Vegas was presented with a challenge—the question of whether Strong would participate in the Openweight Championship.
Much to HENARE’s chagrin, Kingston would take several championship matches before facing a member of the United Empire, though in retrospect, the Mad King’s AEW Grand Slam match with Claudio Castagnoli made the meeting more appealing to the Maori Warrior. Thanks to Kingston’s New York victory, he became a double NJPW Strong and ROH World Champion, and Strong added to the gold prestige with a defense at AEW’s Wrestle Dream event against Katsuyori Shibata. With only Strong openweight gold on the line in Vegas, a win would see HENARE capture his first singles gold in NJPW and put him well on his way to the ROH title.
