There were just a few simple must-haves for my stay: a great pool, a large room at an affordable price, and a central location that made it easy to walk to other great attractions. In Las Vegas, bigger is usually better—and The Venetian happens to be one of the largest hotel complexes on the planet. Originally opened in 1999 in the former site of the historic Sands Hotel and Casino, today the resort includes more than 7,000 suites in three towers: the original Venetian Tower, the more secluded Venezia, overlooking the Strip, and the Palazzo. sister property, which has a slightly more upscale feel.

The nights I could find availability for ranged from 37,000 points to 88,000 points each. That said, even if you have IHG elite status, don’t expect a lot of preferential treatment.

One of the main draws of The Venetian is the fact that entry-level rooms start at 650 square feet for a deluxe king suite and 750 square feet for a deluxe two-queen suite—and go up from there.
