The buffet was the first to reopen last June after the state ordered the closure of non-essential businesses in March last year to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The casinos reopened on June 4, 2020 after a 78-day mandatory closure, and the buffet reopened on June 18 last year, with around 90 all-you-can-eat dishes served at the table instead of a buffet line. It closed in September.

Gradually but inexorably, signs are piling up that Las Vegas is returning to its pre-pandemic normalcy — and nothing more affirming than the reopening of the iconic Las Vegas buffet. LATEST EDITION: The Buffet at Vine Las Vegas returns Thursday at 8 a.m.

During an employee-only game day at the buffet on Wednesday, executive chef Jason Duarte said returning guests will find something new.
The Buffet At The Wynn Restaurant Info And Reservations
“We tried to go with a more eclectic menu,” he said, representing cultures including the South Pacific and South Asia, from which many of the resort’s guests come.
At the same time, Duarte said, he recognizes the role of expected favorites at any local buffet. One of the changes he’s most excited about and received the most positive feedback from is the new pancake station at breakfast and brunch.
At the pancake station, guests can watch their flapjacks being cooked. In addition to buttermilk pancakes, the buffet offers red velvet chocolate chip, bananas foster, strawberry shortcake and blueberry pancakes, which guests can mix and match.
The new Eggs Benedict station makes a traditional dish and versions with lox and capers, lobster or a corn fritter. Other breakfast dishes include blintzes, Belgian waffles and cinnamon-sugar French toast made with white-chocolate brioche and served with crème anglaise, orange zest a punchy counterpoint to the sweet richness.

The Latin station offers moist, meaty pork tamales with chicken mole and chorizo and eggs. Another area features build-your-own parfaits and individual dishes like overnight oats, bloody mary ceviche and house-made juices like strawberry lemonade.
In the Asian area guests can find Thai chicken wings, congee, sushi and dim sum. The seafood spot features marinated mussels, lox and bagels and cocktail shrimp early in the day, while mussels, Johna crab, oysters on the half shell and hot and cold Opilio crab legs are cooked later.
There is a charcuterie counter with everything guests need to make their own plates. Four types of pizza. A carving station with strip loin, pork belly, rotisserie chicken, roasted turkey and three types of sausages (including pineapple-chicken) for breakfast and brunch, and even more at dinner.
Along with a new soft-serve station featuring a rainbow of nine toppings, including peanut M&Ms, gummy worms and mini-Reuss cups, the desserts keep coming even during brunch: caramel churros, chocolate lava cake, sugar-free desserts, warm peach and blackberry pudding and — yes — the traditional glass of wine. Bread pudding.
Wynn Las Vegas Announces The Return Of The Buffet
During dinner service, many stations change focus. For example, pancakes are turned into latkes, served with smoked salmon and caviar, creme fraiche and roasted beets with pomegranate, goat cheese and caramelized apples.
The Latin station switches to a Southern Italian focus with dishes like spaghetti and meatballs, gnocchi with linguica and clams, and rock shrimp penne with Alfredo sauce and sun-dried tomatoes. The parfait area is a place to make your own salads. The omelet station becomes a taco bar.
Duarte said the buffet offers more individual dishes than previously offered — about 40 percent of the food served — which he said is part of the prevailing trend rather than a nod to the pandemic. However, the latter provisions include several hand-sanitizer stations and a policy of changing utensils every 15 minutes.
Starting Thursday, the buffet is open Thursday through Monday for breakfast, brunch, and dinner. Prices range from $38.99 to $64.99 and reservations are accepted.

The buffet at Wynn joins the list of buffets that have already reopened, such as the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace, Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, Garden Buffet at South Pointe, Circus Buffet at Circus Circus, and the MGM Grand Buffet. The buffet at the Excalibur also opens on Thursday, followed by the buffet at the Bellagio on July 16.
Duarte said the revitalized buffet at Vine is designed in keeping with the resort’s other restaurants. Even the look has been updated, making more use of natural light.
