You could probably spend an entire weekend here without having to leave the premises.

The layout of the Palazzo is better than many giants on the Strip. Parking, casino, restaurants and bars are within easy reach of each other, and the hotel has staff at your complete disposal at all times. If you are tired of getting lost and standing in long lines in Las Vegas, this is the solution because everything is efficient and equipped to handle its load. The Prestige Lounge is located on the 23rd floor of the Palace tower and the Prestige suites are located on floors 24 to 26. The lounge offers breakfast, cocktails and hot and cold appetizers exclusively for Prestige guests. The service was spectacular on my visit, I managed to get a table by the window every time I set foot inside, and there is the option to go to the bar yourself or enjoy table service.

The luxurious king suite has enough space to feel like home and enough luxury to remind you that you’re not. It successfully combines the contemporary feel of an apartment with the Italian opulence that the Venetian is famous for.

At 720 square feet, the suite features a separate sunken living area with picture-perfect views of Las Vegas, including its mountainous backdrop. It’s a great space for entertaining friends, but just pulling up a chair and taking in the view with a glass of whiskey has worked for me.

When you’re done with the view, remote-controlled Roman blinds and shades make it easy for you to move to the bedroom, where an oversized king bed awaits. Or how about a soak in the deep Roman-style marble tub? The housekeeping staff leaves enough bath salts for you and your guests to enjoy each day. As for the rest of the bathroom, there’s a separate shower and two sinks equipped with charging points where I was able to conveniently fit my new Curaprox toothbrush.

My first evening I had dinner at David Chang’s Majordōmo Meat and Fish. Inspired by the energy of Las Vegas, the modern steakhouse restaurant is a lively and engaging experience for guests. It’s sharing style: You’ll find lobster bucatini alongside fried chicken and even a raw bar. I found the dessert particularly impressive. The “main donut” is an event: pan-fried Krispy Kreme donut, vanilla ice cream, flambéed banana and caramel whip. It was the fanciest Krispy Kreme I had ever had.

On my second night I dined at Mott 32, an award-winning Hong Kong restaurant that opened its first U.S. location here in The Palazzo tower. The menu combines authentic Chinese recipes passed down through generations with cutting-edge cooking techniques. Their signature dish is Applewood Smoked Peking Duck, prepared in a custom-designed oven and refrigerator. The team rolls out the cart of the most succulent plump duck you’ve ever seen and selects the finest cuts for you at the table. If you’re a fan of dumplings, I also recommend their Dim Sum, an elevated version of anything you’ve ever eaten in Chinatown.

I had a quick round of drinks near the Electra Cocktail Club. Its cocktails are designed by award-winning bartender Sam Ross and some of them come in unusual (and very photogenic) cups. Electra has the high energy you’d expect in a Las Vegas nightclub, but in the early evening it has a laid-back, local hot spot vibe. I loved people watching and nodding along to the hits as I walked back upstairs.

Renovated and redesigned in 2019, the waters of The Venetian pools evoke the charm and allure of Italian maritime influences. The resort has four large swimming pools, three of which are infinity pools, poolside chaise lounges and loungers in the center of the pools combine to create a luxurious oasis. Their Cabanas are the height of luxury, all equipped with air conditioning, fully stocked refrigerators and Wi-Fi access.

It’s not a Las Vegas resort without a casino, and the Palace floor has a stunning offering, with new elements that go beyond the thrill of gaming, from an electric ribbon of color overhead that creates waves of light as it ripples from one shade to another, to new marble paths with motifs and medallions taken from Italy’s rich history. To be honest, I don’t know much about the games, but from what I saw on the ground, it attracted a wide range of players and the setting was every bit the Vegas flash you’d want in a casino.

The experience also includes some little surprises along the way (as someone who has taken a gondola ride in Venice, I can verify that this is not a copy, it is a unique homage to Las Vegas).
