Chef Angelo Auriana is from Bergamo in Northern Italy. He graduated with honors from San Pellegrino School. While there, he learned to cook from culinary experts. He then honed his skills closer to home before moving to California in 1985.
He developed his signature style and helped open several restaurants. In 2013, the chef took his work to a new level. He joined the Ferdinandi family. Together they opened Factory Kitchen and BRERA in the Arts District of Los Angeles.
Welcome to Las Vegas. Five years later, they brought Matteo’s Ristorante to the Venetian Resort. The trio created BRERA osteria in 2019. Their restaurant team has won many awards for their concepts. They include the Bib Gourmand and the Michelin Award of Distinction. The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas is one of the most iconic properties on the Las Vegas Strip. Home to 7,093 suites across three towers, the Venetian and the Palazzo transport guests to a lush, classic Italian-themed area with endless restaurants and activities. We recently stayed at the Venetian Prestige Club, so read on to find out if it’s worth it.
The Venetian Resort Las Vegas
The Venetian is a true 5 star property. Towards the northern end of the strip, this fully integrated resort is the perfect jumping-off point for tourists looking to explore the strip, but it’s also a great spot if you plan to stay on property. The Venetian is a short 10 to 20 minute drive from the airport and conveniently located near the Fashion Show Mall, one of the premier shopping destinations in Las Vegas. Within walking distance, you’ll find the Linq “high roller” experience, the Caesars Hotel and the number of activities and amenities the strip is famous for.
Given the size of this hotel, it’s no surprise that the reception and check-in experience is rough, especially if you’re not staying in the Prestige Club. When we went up to the valet, we were told that the valet was full. We asked if this happened often, and the deal was “every day”. The parking garage is a quick walk, but it’s worth mentioning that it’s very low on the roof.
Finding a place to hide on the top floor, we headed out to the elevators, casino floor and lobby to inquire about the Prestige Check Club in the area. The line to check in at the lobby was very long, so we were thankfully sent to the club to get in instead. The elevators to reach the Prestige Club on the 36th floor are right next to the self-parking elevators, so it’s worth noting that you need to attend that parking lot if you plan to stay in the Prestige Club.
The check-in and check-out area is very small in relation to how many guests the hotel can support. Every time we passed the lobby, the lines were long. If you have IHG elite status, there is a “VIP” line you can access which is always very short. However, if you have booked a standard room and you are not in a position, expect to wait a little longer.

As a note, smoking is still allowed in the Venetian casino. Since the casino is right next to the lobby, the smell was strong day and night.
When we arrived at the Prestige Club, we had a wonderful experience. We were quickly checked in and sent to relax with a glass of champagne in the lounge. The lounge has never had a line anywhere and Prestige Club guests can check in and out of the lounge directly, bypassing any lobby requirements. The club level lounge also has a concierge service so if you need tickets or reservations for shows, they can take care of that too.
We have reserved the Prestige Club Luxury King Suite. The Prestige Club upgrade at the time was about double the cost of the room. Prestige Club rooms come with better views, higher quality and access to club-level amenities, such as continental breakfast, tea and coffee all day, evening desserts and cocktail receptions. If you’ve been to Las Vegas before, you know that drinks aren’t cheap. 4 drinks in the Club lounge is essentially a break even at the level of your room if you enjoy cocktails in bars and restaurants.
The suite itself is 650 square feet and very spacious. Whether you’re in the Prestige Club or not, the King Suite fits the bill and amenities. The Venetian recommends some of the highest quality rooms in the business and they are not accurate. Each room comes with a fully sunken living room, king (or two queen) beds and a large bathroom with tub, shower and double vanities. While modern, the suites are comfortable and feature a bed changer and electronic curtains that are controlled by your bed. We really appreciate the little bit of modernity, despite the hotel’s age. They have added USB ports to the desks and convenient bed charging.

The bath products are typical Venetian and smell very nice. They also provide the amenities one would expect, but are often overlooked during COVID-19, including q-tips, shower caps and more.
Compared to some of the housekeeping disasters we’ve experienced recently in Las Vegas, we were pleasantly surprised to find the place incredibly clean. They also offer daily housekeeping and turndown services. There were enough towels, toiletries and the room itself was clean.
There is a reserved minibar, but keep in mind that you cannot remove an item unless it is charged to your account. Be sure to check through the front desk if you accidentally grab something as you will need to remove it from your case. There is a clear point in the minibar, but it can be easy to accidentally hit things in the fridge or tray. They do not provide additional refrigerators or coffee machines in the room.
