But what exactly happens if you drive into Malaysia and find your car stolen, either by force or stolen while you weren’t around?

To put it plainly, having your car stolen in Malaysia is a terrible situation to be in. You are likely to panic and this is only made worse if you have small children or elderly family members who are also trapped with you.

If you’re driving a new car, you might be able to do a 1-for-1 trade-in, but your no-claims discount (NCD) is probably as good as it gets.

You may need to file a report with the insurance company within 24 hours of the event. So pay attention to the specific requirement as stated in your motor insurance policy when you buy or renew it.
